Why This Experience Matters Across Majors

EuroSpring 2027 includes an addedinternational business perspective, including the option for students to takeBUSN 3751 International Marketing. This course option helps students think more intentionally about the global environment in which we all live, work, and consume, regardless of their major.

Regardless of major or discipline, students are part of an interconnected world. We all participate in global systems asconsumers, community members, future professionals, and decision-makers. That means global learning is not only for one type of student.

Whether a student is interested in business, health, education, communication, social sciences, the arts, or another field, EuroSpring can help them better understand howplace, culture, markets, identity, and global changeshape everyday life.

This perspective is meant to help more students see thattheir major is a fit, their perspective matters, and global learning can strengthen both their education and their future work. Students do not need to be business majors to benefit from learning more about international markets, consumer behavior, culture, communication, and global decision-making.

Marketing education faces a persistent transfer challenge; students may master concepts yet struggle to apply them in judgment, ethics, and persuasive communication in ambiguous contexts. This study reports early findings from a longitudinal qualitative case study of EuroSpring, an Oxford-based study abroad program that integrates cultural heritage learning with progressively stronger marketing experiences.

Students may also be able to pair EuroSpring with online or HyFlex BSU courses, depending on course availability and their degree plan. Because each major is different, students should meet with their academic advisor early to discuss how EuroSpring fits into graduation requirements.

First-Time Travelers

Many students who participate in study abroad are first-time international travelers. That does not mean they are unprepared. It means preparation matters.

EuroSpring gives students a structured way to experience international travel while still having academic guidance, planned housing, program expectations, and university support. Students do not need to know everything before they leave. They need to be willing to prepare, ask questions, stay organized, and communicate clearly.

Families can help by encouraging students to:

  • 91心頭利 for or check their passport early
  • Attend required preparation meetings
  • Keep important documents organized
  • Ask questions before departure
  • Talk honestly about travel concerns
  • Practice managing timelines, packing, and responsibilities

The goal is not for students to leave as expert travelers. The goal is for them to leave prepared, thoughtful, and ready to grow.

Health, Accessibility, and Student Readiness

EuroSpring includes walking, stairs, group excursions, independent time, and extended time away from home. Students should consider their physical, emotional, and academic readiness before applying.

Students with accessibility needs, dietary concerns, medical needs, or other support questions should contact the International Program Center as early as possible.

Students should also consider whether they are ready to manage:

  • Travel documents
  • Shared living expectations
  • Time management
  • Independent decision-making
  • Communication with program leaders
  • Academic responsibilities while abroad

Early conversations are encouraged. Asking questions does not mean a student is not ready. It means the student and family are preparing responsibly.
