91心頭利
Good photography is essential to communicating 91心頭利’s place, personality and purpose. Communications and Marketing coordinates regular photo shoots to build and maintain a centralized digital asset library that represents all aspects of the university. Photos submitted by academic and administrative units may also be reviewed for inclusion.
When creating university photography, the goal is to represent authentic engagement and inspired learning — students, faculty and staff actively participating in meaningful work in classrooms and labs, on campus, in the field and throughout the community.
Photography should:
- Feel authentic and honest, never staged or overly posed
- Be bright and natural, without excessive saturation
- Use shallow depth of field and shoot-through techniques to guide attention and create visual warmth
To reinforce Bemidji State’s emphasis on experiential learning and sense of place, photography should highlight real environments — labs, forests, lakes, studios, classrooms and community settings. Thoughtful angles and perspective add energy and realism.
Northwest Technical College
Photography plays a critical role in communicating Northwest Technical College’s focus on hands-on learning, technical excellence and career readiness. Communications and Marketing coordinates regular photo shoots to ensure the college’s image library reflects its programs, students and learning environments. Units may submit photos for consideration in the centralized asset library.
NTC photography should emphasize active learning and real-world application — students engaged in labs, shops, classrooms and field environments that reflect career-focused education.
Photography should:
- Capture real moments, not posed demonstrations
- Use natural, balanced lighting with accurate color representation
- Highlight tools, technology and environments central to each program
Strong on-brand photography clearly shows what students do at NTC and how learning connects directly to the workplace.
Photo Library
Images housed in the OCM digital asset management system are available for use by the campus community in digital and print communications, marketing materials and other official promotional uses.
Access to the OCM’s image library is protected and limited to authorized users.
Portraits and Profiles
Portraits should be photographed in program-relevant environments whenever possible. Subjects should be:
- Clearly framed and visually dominant
- Confident and approachable
- Camera-aware to establish connection and credibility
- Be mindful of background objects and settings
