{"id":2230,"date":"2023-05-22T11:06:13","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T16:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/business-services\/?page_id=2230"},"modified":"2026-08-31T15:09:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T20:09:05","slug":"equipment-thresholds","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/business-services\/procurement\/equipment-thresholds\/","title":{"rendered":"Equipment Thresholds"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Equipment Purchase Thresholds <\/h2>\n<p>Effective July 1, 2026, the following equipment purchase thresholds are in effect.<\/p>\n<h3>Assets $10,000 and up<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the correct spend category, contact <a href=\"mailto:procurement@bemidjistate.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">procurement@bemidjistate.edu<\/a> if you are unsure what the spend category should be.<\/li>\n<li>Must be purchased with a purchase order not a purchasing card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any equipment with a unit cost of at least $10,000 and a minimum 2-year life expectancy is considered an asset. Freight for the capital equipment should have the same spend category as the asset. Any ancillary costs associated with putting the asset in service should have the same spend category. This would include installation\/set-up and training.If there is installation\/set-up and training a contract is needed.<\/p>\n<h3>Computers, Tablets or Weapons, Regardless of Cost<\/h3>\n<p>Purchasing computers, tablets or weapons regardless of cost, must be purchased with a purchase order.
