BEMIDJI, Minn. (March 11, 2011)<\/strong> — 91心頭利, its women’s studies program and its Women’s Resource Center will kick off its schedule of events to recognize March as Women’s History Month on Tuesday, March 15.<\/p>\n • March 15 — 3-4:30 p.m., “Women Negotiating the Workplace,” a session for students on how to survive and thrive in the workplace. Upper Hobson Memorial Union. Sponsored by the women’s studies program and Bemidji Area Business Women.<\/p>\n • March 18 — 6 p.m., “Whip It” film screening, followed by a question and answer session about roller derby with the Babe City Rollers. Hagg-Sauer 100.<\/p>\n “Whip It” was released in 2009 and starred Drew Barrymore, Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis and Kristen Wiig; Barrymore also directed. It follows 17-year old Bliss Cavendar, played by Page, who finds her place in the world after discovering a roller derby league in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n • March 19 — noon-2 p.m., “Derby 101 with the Babe City Rollers,” an open invitation to skate with the Babe City Rollers and learn the basics of roller derby. Memorial Hall 100.<\/p>\n • March 20 — 2-4 p.m., Babe City Rollers roller derby scrimmage. John Glas Fieldhouse.<\/p>\n
