{"id":528,"date":"2008-08-26T14:09:40","date_gmt":"2008-08-26T20:09:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/?p=528"},"modified":"2021-11-01T15:52:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T20:52:55","slug":"talley-gallery-to-present-works-of-butch-holden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2008\/08\/26\/talley-gallery-to-present-works-of-butch-holden\/","title":{"rendered":"Talley Gallery to present works of Butch Holden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> &ndash; <strong>Butch Holden<\/strong>, professor of visual arts at 91心頭利, will present an exhibition entitled &ldquo;Around the Block&rdquo; in the Talley Gallery of the Education Arts Complex on the campus of 91心頭利 from Wednesday, Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Sept. 24.<\/p>\n<p>Holden, who is nearing his 25th anniversary as a member of the faculty at Bemidji State, teaches visual arts courses with a concentration in ceramics. His exhibition focuses on the complementary contrast between the circle and the square, a theme present in his work since graduate school.<\/p>\n<p>An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from noon to 3 p.m., and Holden will speak briefly to introduce the exhibition at 12:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Holden&rsquo;s exhibit will be open until 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, allowing Talley Gallery to participate in Bemidji&rsquo;s First Friday event. On the first Friday of each month, the Bemidji arts community has open art exhibitions with people walking from gallery-to-gallery.
