In the face of COVID-19, 91心頭利’s Department of Music is maintaining its commitment to performance training by offering safe opportunities for students.<\/p>\n

Following COVID-19 mitigation measures recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota State system and others, Bemidji State will host a series of student recitals and ensemble performances during the Spring 2021 semester.<\/p>\n

Navigating a new normal since March 2020, Jennifer Olson, assistant professor of music, said the department has aimed to retain as many unique opportunities for students as possible.<\/p>\n

“Our students creatively and safely perform together, and continue to grow and develop as musicians,” Olson said. “I have been deeply impressed with the resiliency and perseverance of our music students and faculty here at BSU. COVID may have put the world on hold, but our students press on, undeterred towards their dreams. It is an honor to help light the way and to be a part of their journey.”<\/p>\n

Bemidji State’s ensembles are open to students of all majors and provide opportunities that include regional and international performance tours, workshops and master classes, woodwind and piano festivals and fully staged opera productions.<\/p>\n
