In recognition of National Poetry Month, Headwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse announced Dr. Carol Ann Russell, 91心頭利 professor of English, as host on Friday, April 5.<\/p>\n

Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse is a volunteer-led community event where artists and authors like Russell enjoy celebrating the arts and sharing their work in a welcoming community setting. The coffee house features music and spoken word performances on the first Friday of every month in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Russell has published six books of poetry and was awarded an artist grant from the Region 2 Arts Council. She continues to mentor and teach writers in the Bemidji community through her classes and workshops.<\/p>\n
