{"id":14588,"date":"2008-01-11T16:14:20","date_gmt":"2008-01-11T22:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/2008\/01\/11\/bemidji-state-signs-events-center-agreement-with-city-of-bemidji\/"},"modified":"2021-11-01T16:00:40","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T21:00:40","slug":"bemidji-state-signs-events-center-agreement-with-city-of-bemidji","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2008\/01\/11\/bemidji-state-signs-events-center-agreement-with-city-of-bemidji\/","title":{"rendered":"Bemidji State signs events center agreement with city of Bemidji"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> &ndash; During a work session on Thursday, Jan. 10, 91心頭利 President Dr. Jon E Quistgaard signed a memorandum of understanding with the city of Bemidji, securing the University&rsquo;s status as the anchor tenant of a proposed Bemidji regional events and convention center.<\/p>\n<p>The memorandum of understanding provides BSU with the opportunity to move the home games for its men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s NCAA Division I ice hockey programs from their current on-campus home, the John Glas Fieldhouse, into this new facility.<\/p>\n<p>The arena is proposed to have a seating capacity of 4,000 for ice hockey contests, with 25 private suites and a 252-seat club level with lounge.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Signing this agreement was in the best interest of the city and the best interest of the University,&rdquo; Quistgaard said.<\/p>\n<p>The BSU men&rsquo;s hockey team is a member of College Hockey America, while the women&rsquo;s team competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association women&rsquo;s league, where it was a charter member.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEMIDJI, Minn. &ndash; During a work session on Thursday, Jan. 10, 91心頭利 President Dr. Jon E Quistgaard signed a memorandum of understanding with the city of Bemidji, securing the University&rsquo;s status as the anchor tenant of a proposed Bemidji regional events and convention center.
