91心頭利 will celebrate National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week Oct. 22-31

National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week schedule of events91心頭利’s students, faculty and staff will join campuses across the nation to participate in National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week Oct. 22-31. The week-long awareness campaign aims to promote responsible decision-making and change peer-to-peer attitudes towards drinking and drug use.

The BSU student senate started the “No Buddy Left Behind” initiative in 2015 as part of a new effort to remind students to watch out for each other.

Multiple events have been planned throughout the week to educate students on topics related to drugs, alcohol and safety. The week will also feature on-campus, alternative events that will allow students to socialize with their peers in a safe and sober environment.

The week of events include:

Oct. 23

  • 2 – 3 p.m. at the Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Oct. 24

  • 7 p.m. at the American Indian Resource Center. Panelists will share their personal testimonies of triumph over adversities related to chemical dependency.

Oct. 25

  • 8 p.m. in the Beaux Art Ballroom – “A crazy blend of Jack Black and Criss Angel. Amazing!” – The L.A. Times.

Oct. 27

  • 1 – 7 p.m. The Annual in the BSU Gymnasium
  • 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. A Mocktails Halloween Costume Party and Dance at the 2nd Floor Oak Hall Lounge

Oct. 30

  • 12 p.m. , told by her mother in the Crying Wolf Room. Her story serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with drinking and of the valuable lesson to never leave your friends behind.
  • 7 p.m. Hannah’s Story, told by her mother in Hagg-Sauer 100. Her story serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with drinking and of the valuable lesson to never leave your friends behind.

Oct. 31

  • 11 – 1 p.m. Be-Wise-Er held in the Hobson Memorial Union. Lifestyle Educators will provide tips to stay safe at the Halloween party.
  • 11 – 1 p.m. Decorate your own at Lakeside in Hobson Memorial Union.

Nov. 6

  • 7 p.m. The Face of Addiction Addiction is a serious, potentially life-threatening illness, but there is hope for a meaningful life. Held in Hagg-Sauer 100.
