• Dr. Donna Palivec, professor of human performance, health and sport, taught a League of American Cyclists Traffic Skills 101 class with BSU alum Cody Bartz during a Sept. 14-15 event on campus coordinated by the BSU Sustainability Office.
Other participants in the workshop included Dr. Muriel Gilman, professor emerita of human performance, sport and health; Ashley Phoenix, a gradate assistant in environmental studies; Caitlyn Schuchhardt, BSU’s GreenCorps member, BSU students Alex Miller and Robie Rock, and community members Hans and Judy Roberts from Brainerd; manager for the Northern Minnesota Bicycle Friendly Community Program, Natalie Gillie from Bemidji; Diane Pittman; and Dan DeVault.
• Tim Rundquist, assistant professor of business administration, celebrated his 50th birthday this summer with a deep-sea fishing trip off the coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. He and two friends spent four days reeling in king salmon (right), coho salmon, and bottomfish, including a 50-pound halibut. His freezer is still full of fish, if you’re willing to barter!
