The International Program Center is here to help you make the most of your experience at BSU, offering guidance at every step along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Admitted International Graduate Student Next Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate students will need to submit the following documents to the International Program Center for your I-20 after being admitted by the School of Graduate Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submit all supporting documents via email to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:international@bemidjistate.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">international@bemidjistate.edu<\/a>.<\/strong> Include your BSU-issued 8-digit student ID and full name when submitting supporting documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Documents that require a signature must be signed with a &ldquo;wet&rdquo;&mdash;original pen-and-ink signature. Computer-generated signatures are not acceptable. Note: BSU may request original or official copies if scanned copies are not sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The following financial documents are required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/05\/Financial-Affidavit-Full-yr-student-fillable.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1579\">Financial Affidavit Form<\/a>&nbsp;serves as a proof of your capability to fund your first year of study.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your Financial Affidavit must show a total of at least $27,144 USD, the estimated cost to attend BSU for two semesters\/one academic year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bank Documents.<\/strong>&nbsp;You have 2 options for submitting bank documents:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Line-by-line bank statements dated within the last six months (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/05\/Sample-bank-statement.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1586\">sample bank statement<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or a notarized letter from your bank dated within the last six months. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bemidji State&rsquo;s Required Documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign and submit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/05\/Final-Intl-Student-Agreement.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1584\">International Student Agreement Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a copy of the Name\/Identification page of your passport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/04\/BSU-Authorization-to-Release-BLANK-FORM-fillable.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1556\">Authorization to Release Student Information Form<\/a>&nbsp;(if applicable).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/05\/Transfer-Request-Form-2019-updated.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1585\">Transfer Request Form<\/a>&nbsp;(if currently studying in the U.S. and have an I-20).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before You Arrive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once admitted, we will send you your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2025\/04\/Welcome-packet-2024.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1529\">welcome packet<\/a> (.pdf) along with your I-20 or DS-2019 and letter of admission. Once you receive this packet, you will need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign your I-20\/DS-2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studyinthestates.dhs.gov\/2015\/03\/paying-the-i-901-sevis-fee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Pay your SEVIS fee<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>. This should be done as soon as possible to ensure that you have enough time to obtain your visa and make travel arrangements. All F-1 and J-1 visa applicants are required to pay this fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>91心頭利 for your student visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make flight arrangements for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/admitted\/admitted-international\/traveling-to-bemidji\/\">travel to Bemidji<\/a>, Minnesota (airport code is BJI), to arrive BEFORE the orientation program start date (located on admission letter).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete and return (email to our office) the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/admitted\/admitted-international\/traveling-to-bemidji\/\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"1451\">Arrival Notification Form<\/a>. We provide free airport pickup from the Bemidji airport only, and only for students who have registered for on-campus housing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/its\/knowledge-base\/activating-starid-international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Set up StarID<\/a> (if you haven&rsquo;t already done so) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/mybsu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyBSU<\/a> e-mail account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/services\/reslife\/housing\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign up for residence hall<\/a>&nbsp;and dining service through your MyBSU account. You are required to live on campus your first year at BSU, or until you are at least 21 years old. Orientation is mandatory for all new international students, undergraduate and graduate levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purchase the mandatory health insurance. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhcsr.com\/mnscu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">UnitedHealthcare<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>&nbsp;(works best with Chrome browser) for general information. See UHC&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhcsr.com\/school-page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">&ldquo;91心頭利&rdquo;<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a> page for more detailed information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a test for tuberculosis, which is administered by the Student Center for Health and Counseling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make your payments. The first two payments for new international students are due the Friday before classes begin. They are: 1) the total amount of your health insurance, and 2) a $300 down payment on tuition and fees OR enrollment in our payment plan. This deadline is meant to give you time to learn about our payment procedures and ask questions. In future semesters, your bills will be due 15 business days prior to the semester start date.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"bsu-block bsu-content-on-color p-0 bsu-block-image-side bg-secondary\"><div class=\"card shadow-0 flex-row mw-100 p-0 rounded-0 text-bg-secondary \"><div class=\"card-body container row mx-auto py-5 align-items-md-start\"><div class=\"col-12 my-3 text-md-start\"><h2 class=\"card-title display-4 border-0\">International Student Orientation<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"col-12 my-2 text-md-start\"><p class=\"card-text\">International Student Orientation is a two day event full of activities, new friendships, and preparations to start your life at Bemidji State.
