{"id":1006,"date":"2025-01-17T13:57:03","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T19:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/?page_id=1006"},"modified":"2026-02-24T16:34:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:34:35","slug":"application-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/online\/application-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Program Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"intro\">The application process at Bemidji State is easy and free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. 91心頭利<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Distance students must&nbsp;apply for admission to 91心頭利&nbsp;using the same process and forms as our on-campus students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Undergraduates:&nbsp;91心頭利 online as an <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/adm\/public\/studentWelcome?campusId=070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">undergraduate<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate Students:&nbsp;91心頭利 online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/admissions\/graduate\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">School of Graduate Studies<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Program Admission Procedures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>BAS programs, RN-BS Nursing and the Project Management BS&nbsp;<em>require<\/em>&nbsp;transfer of technical and\/or professional credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After being admitted to BSU, submit separate applications for these programs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/professional-education\/dlite\/admission-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Elementary Education BS &ldquo;DLiTE&rdquo;<\/u><\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/nursing\/application-information\/rn-to-b-s-admission-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>RN-to-BS Nursing<\/u><\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/social-work\/admission-to-the-social-work-program\/admissions-forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Social Work BSW hybrid program &ldquo;SWIM&rdquo;<\/u><\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Not seeking a degree, but need an online class or classes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply online as a non-degree seeking&nbsp;student, and register for classes as soon as your application is processed. Prerequisites and other course restrictions apply. FAFSA-based&nbsp;financial aid is not available under this option. Application processing is usually completed within a few days. Follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/eservices.minnstate.edu\/adm\/public\/studentWelcome?campusId=070\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong><u>undergraduate&nbsp;online application<\/u><\/strong><i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>&nbsp;instructions and select the following as you complete the application:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>In Application Section 6 &ldquo;Major&rdquo;:<br><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Select&nbsp;Bemidji State as your school.<\/li>\n<li>Select&nbsp;&ldquo;Complete courses but not a degree&rdquo;&nbsp;under <em>Major &ndash; Educational Intent<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Select &ldquo;Online&rdquo; as your <em>preferred&nbsp;delivery method<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Select &ldquo;General Studies (Undecided)&rdquo; as your <em>major\/academic program<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Select &ldquo;Not Seeking Degree&rdquo; as your <em>desired degree\/award<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Already Enrolled at Another Minnesota State School?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are already enrolled at another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minnstate.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><u>Minnesota State college or university<\/u><i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>, you may be eligible to take certain online courses through 91心頭利 as a &ldquo;visiting student&rdquo;, without having to apply to BSU. Financial aid and transferability should be considered. Please contact <a href=\"mailto:admissions@bemidjistate.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">admissions@bemidjistate.edu<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Successful Application Tips<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When completing your application for BSU admission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please choose the major that you are most likely to complete, as that will produce the most accurate&nbsp;transfer credit evaluation. Do not leave the major field blank, if possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The &ldquo;online&rdquo; delivery method is for completely online program options, but also includes Elementary Education (DLiTE) and hybrid Social Work (SWIM).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The &ldquo;off site&rdquo; delivery method is for the Biology BS or BA program with BSU courses offered at North Hennepin Community College.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Transfer Credit Evaluation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your previous college\/university credits will be evaluated for transfer after we receive your official transcripts. The BSU transfer team can download transcripts from Minnesota State schools electronically. If your transcripts are from outside of the Minnesota State system (including the University of Minnesota), please contact that college or university to request an official copy of your transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions at BSU.&nbsp;<strong>Your transfer evaluation will be completed within 3 weeks after your admission to BSU<\/strong>. We will notify you by email when it is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.&nbsp;91心頭利 for Financial Aid and Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check with your major department to learn about other scholarship opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Register for Classes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/distance\/student-resources\/registration\/\">registration&nbsp;guidelines and policies<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register through E-Services at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/mybsu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyBSU<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/distance\/contact-us\/\">contact Extended Learning<\/a>&nbsp;for assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn more about your E-Services account and the registration process at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/distance\/student-resources\/registration\/\">Registration FAQs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.&nbsp;Verify Computer Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Review&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/its\/hardware-software\/techrecommendations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">computer and Internet required specifications<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.&nbsp;Purchase Course Materials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find required texts for your courses at the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bookstore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University Bookstore<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may order your textbooks online and your order will be shipped to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may charge BSU Bookstore purchases to your student account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7.
